MindSpring provides you with a variety of software on your MindSpring CD. In addition to our standard installation, there are programs located in the Other Software folder which you can install and use with your MindSpring Internet connection.
For Windows 95/98:
- Insert your MindSpring CD into your CD-ROM drive.
- When the MindSpring CD Window appears, click the Other Software button
- If the MindSpring CD window does not open automatically, double-click on the My Computer icon.
- Double-click on your CD-ROM drive.
- Double-click on the Software folder.
- Double-click on the folder that contains the program you wish to install.
The folder you select will contain either an installer file or the program itself. Installer files normally have an icon the looks like either of the two shown below. [Figure Win-1]

If the folder for the program you wish to use contains an installer file, you will need to double click on the installer file and follow the instructions that appear. This will place the program on your C: drive. When the installation is complete, you can remove the CD and begin using the software. Some installers will require you to restart your computer before you can begin using the software.
If the folder for the program you wish to use does not contain an installer file, you will need to click once on the folder and drag it onto your C: drive. This will copy all of the nessasary program files to C: drive. After you have finished copying the folder to your C: drive, you can remove the CD and begin using the software.
For Windows 3.x:
- Insert your MindSpring CD into your CD-ROM drive.
- Double-click on the File Manager.
- Double-click on your CD-ROM drive.
- Double-click on the Software folder.
- Double-click on the folder that contains the program you wish to install.
The folder you select will contain either an installer file or the program itself. Installer files normally have an icon the looks like the one shown below. [Figure Win3-1]

Double-click on the Other software folder in the window that appears. You may need to scroll the window to locate the folder.
Double-click the folder that contains the program you wish to install.

This will copy all of the nessasary program files to your hard disk. After you have finished copying the folder to your hard drive, you can remove the CD and begin using the software.
